Startup Settings

Auto Power On

  1. Power on the server and press F2 a few times to access the BIOS

  1. Navigate to the Advanced tab

  2. Open the Chipset Configuration menu

  3. Locate the Restore AC Power Loss option

  4. Change it to “Power ON’

  1. Press F10 to save & exit, and enter to confirm

  2. Auto power on is now enabled

Clear CMOS

If the server fails to power on or is unresponsive, clearing the CMOS may help. It will also restore the BIOS to factory defaults. Ensure this procedure is done in a static safe environment. A grounding strap is recommended.

  1. Unplug the server completely from power and all peripherals

  2. Remove one phillips screw from each side of the lid near the front

  1. Loosen the 2 captive thumbscrews and slide the lid off towards the rear of the server.

  1. Locate the clear CMOS solder pads

  1. Using a flathead screwdriver or similar conductive tool, short the two pins together for 30 seconds

  1. Slide the lid back on, reconnect the server, and power it on

  2. It may reboot several times to re-detect hardware

  3. If it continues to malfunction, contact technical support.
