How to enable Auto Power On

The CL100 can be configured to turn on automatically when DC power is connected. This is useful for power outage recovery or if the unit is mounted in a hard to reach location. You can enable Auto Power On by following the steps listed below.

  • Power on the unit and immediately press the F2 key until you see the BIOS screen

  • Using the arrow keys, navigate to the Advanced tab and enter the Chipset Configuration menu

  • Next, locate the Restore on AC/Power Loss option
  • Change it to [Power On]

  • Finally, navigate to the Exit tab and choose the Save Changes and Exit option
  • The system will reboot and is now configured for auto power on

Troubleshooting the CL100

Opening the CL100 does not void the manufacturer’s warranty. However, some precautions are necessary to avoid damaging the unit.

  • Perform this disassembly in an area free of static discharge
  • Before beginning, touch a grounded metal surface to discharge your body of static electricity

  • Unplug the system and turn it upside down
  • If applied, remove the rubber feet to access the screws
  • Next, use a small P1 Phillips driver to remove the screws
  • Now the bottom plate can now be removed. There may be slight resistance from the sticky thermal pad found inside

Clearing the CL100 CMOS

  • First, locate the clear CMOS pad (circled in red)

  • Then use a flathead screwdriver or other piece of metal to short the two halves together for 30 seconds
  • After that, reinstall the bottom plate and power on the CL100. If it fails to function at this point, you may need to send it in for repair

  • Unplug the system and turn it upside down

  • Watch the animation to the right:
  • Insert the mSATA drive into the slot
  • Secure with M2 screw
  • Peel and apply thermal pad
  • Reinstall bottom plate

Removal

If your mSATA storage drive is not detected or you want to replace it, you can remove it by following the steps below.

  • First, remove the small Phillips screw holding the drive in place. The drive will pop up to a 45-degree angle
  • Next, pull the drive straight out and away from the slot
  • Then, reinsert the drive and re-install the screw

Switching between UEFI and Legacy boot mode

  • Power on the CL100 and immediately press the F2 key until you see the BIOS screen
  • Navigate to the Boot tab
  • Open the CSM submenu
  • Enable CSM for legacy boot mode, disable CSM for UEFI boot mode
  • Press F10 to Save and Exit
